Indonesia Will Propose Visa As the European Union

JAKARTA - Ahead of a meeting of ASEAN Ministerial Meeting (AMM), ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) in Bali next week, Minister of Foreign Affairs Marty Natalegawa said ASEAN visa nomination.
"Regarding the concepts of ASEAN visa, is one who wants to try to develop as one of the initiatives the Government of Indonesia," said Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa in the office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the road Pejambon, Jakarta, Thursday (07/14/2011).
A few years ago ASEAN has decided to create ease of visits from people of ASEAN member countries through the visa waiver program. However this is still in the refinement and completely resolved yet.
"Along with the concept that, Indonesia now plans to roll out the concept of ASEAN Visa. Where is the ease of visiting not only the citizens of ASEAN, but also third countries who wish to visit the ASEAN countries. It's like visas in the EU," said Foreign Minister Natalegawa.
According to Foreign Minister Natalegawa this concept certainly have challenges and obstacles to be overcome, related laws and legislation of each country. Not to forget the economic impact is also newsworthy attention.
But the foreign ministers will continue to see this offered by Indonesia and its possibilities that accompany it. "(Visa) is aligned with the thinking of ASEAN in the Global Community of Nations. So that's the third country to see ASEAN as a whole from the standpoint of the locations you want ditujui," continued the secretary of state.
ASEAN foreign ministers see the visa is still a concept and still continues to talk about. Former British Ambassador to the view of ASEAN visa has yet to be implemented in the near future.
