Again, Myanmar diplomat to the U.S. Asylum Request

WASHINGTON - The more diplomats defected Myanmar. They asked for political asylum in the United States (U.S.).

After a former senior diplomat Myanmar Kyaw Win, now his secretary, Soe Aung, also asked for asylum in the U.S.. Similarly, as reported by the Associated Press on Thursday (07/14/2011).

On July 4, Kyaw Win decided to ask for asylum in the U.S. because they felt unsafe in the country.

Kyaw Win was concerned with Myanmar's military who intend to stifle democracy in Myanmar.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Mark Toner U.S. states until recently the U.S. State Department had no immediate comment related to asylum requests Soe Aung. (RHS)
